TOPIC: Epilating??
#4683
Re:Epilating?? 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I've been waxing for years but now have a lively 2yr old boy and it's difficult to get done so I was considering an epliator. The pain doesn't bother me but I wanted to know which one to get ?
If you say one doesn't pick up shorter hairs then I guess a more expensive one does ??
Any recommendations please, I would love to give it a go ?
Also has anyone tried the laser hair removal machines you can buy in Argos say ? Under £150 ?

I have the Braun Silk Epil which I find excellent for the price. It removes 95% of hairs, even really short ones. I find it sometimes doesn't get the really fine hairs towards the top of my thighs, but they're so fine they're not noticeable anyway! It removes 100% of the hair on my lower legs. I've done a long and rambling review here if you want to check it out:

I think I paid about £30-35 in Tesco. At the time I didn't want to spend a fortune because I had never tried epilating before but I have no intention to upgrade it any time soon.

Hi

I also use a Braun epilator, it's the one with the 'icepack' thing, but I never use that. When I first sytarting using it about 5 years ago it was a little sore, but now I barely notice it and the regrowth is much better than shaving and the hair grows back much more finer, I;d definitely recommend them and they don't hurt as much as waxing !!

I have epilated for years too but I'm finding now that I have ingrown hairs which are definitely not attractive. It doesn't hurt at all - even on the bikini line which is always good.

Does anyone have any tips to avoid ingrown hairs?? I've tried exfoliating before and afterwards but with no luck.

Oouch! I can't do the bikini line... I've tried it a few times and it has actually brought tears to my eyes!

I have trouble with ingrown hairs too, mainly on lower legs - so annoying. I use a body brush to exfoliate my legs as I find it a bit more vigorous compared to body washes. It does help, but doesn't remove them 100%.
