I got mine free from an Avon prize I won. I probably wouldn't have bought it from my regular catalogue, as I have way too many eyeliner pencils anyway and it just wasn't justified me buying yet another one.
I have the Jillian Dempsey ones, and I find the nib a bit too hard if you don't warm it up beforehand. But I think the idea of the pencil and the smudging tip is really good as smudging brushes are quite difficult to clean so that way you stick with the one colour per smudging tip so the result colour doesn't get affected (think about smudging a light blue pencil with a tip that's got some black residues on it... urgh!)
I can't remember what prompted me to use that particular pencil. But I am so glad I did !
The formula for the pencil is really really creamy. You get a good amount of colour deposited with one single stroke. The colour is long-lasting, actually even if you use the smudging tip the colour still stays on all day.
The pencil has the precision of an eyeliner, or you can use the smudging tip to create a softer, smokier look. I really like it because a bold line of black will make my eyes look really small (black on the waterline makes the eyes smaller) and will make me look really kind of serious/austere, but by using the smudging tip I can actually use black and give my eyes a softer, nicer, sexier look.
I am so happy I have found this pencil, just think that I could have so easily browsed past it without thinking twice about getting one. Now I am going to have to get some more ! OK, pricewise, they're a bit pricier than the other Avon pencils, but hey, now I know what the pencils are like they're just so worth it ! Plus you always have offers going on with Avon, so quite often you don't even need to pay full RRP for it !

I really like this & its now taken over from my usual Jillian Dempsey eyeliner. It really does glide on - no dragging or pulling & can create lovely neat narrow lines or thicker more dramatic smudgy lines with the sponge tip. Would definately recommend!
